Their Story: When you’re a couple of grainy filmmakers with a passion for the outdoors trying to carve out a niche in the polished landscape of commercial adverts, you need an identity that exudes authenticity. Our goal was to produce a look and feel that said to Small Hill’s clients, ‘your business offering shouldn’t be diminished by your size. Just as we look legitimate, we can help you do the same’. In this way, Small Hill’s identity also needed to serve as a proof-of-concept.

The inspiration for the logo came from iterating on neolithic forms; stacking, scaling, rotating, until an icon, comprised from Mississippi-valley earthwork shapes, resembled a Super 8 camera. Timeless and classic.
